Preparing Your Wedding Liturgy
Principal Choices
Preparing your Wedding Liturgy
This section presents the wedding liturgy in two ways: a ‘walkthrough’ description of the liturgy which starts at the beginning and highlights the choices to be made as they occur, and looking in details at the areas of choice.
It is assumed that before the detail is considered the date (and whether this has implications for the celebration) and the form of the liturgy will have been established.
With these fundamental decisions the specific detail can be considered. For the majority of couples there will be 3 main areas of choice:
- Marriage texts etc. — which form of the Consent etc. will be used
- Scripture Readings
- Music
There are other elements in the liturgy, such as the texts said by the Priest, where there are possible choices but most are happy to leave these to the Priest.
